December, 2021 News Letter

Dear Parents/Guardians,

NEWSLETTER VOLUME 10 No. 9  (DECEMBER 2021)

INTRODUCTION

It is always heart-warming and fulfilling to pull through to the end of a successful term. At times like this, it will not be out of place to heave a sigh of relief and shout ‘Thank you God’. It has been an exciting learning experience and adventure. We created an engaging learning environment and with your support, our children have substantially developed more skills, confidence and love for learning.

We wish to appreciate all our parents for believing and collaborating with us and we reassure you of our continuous effort to uphold our core values and our mission- teaching to count; and focusing on what counts.

CLOSING FOR FIRST TERM 2021/2022 ACADEMIC SESSION

The first term of 2021/2022 academic session has officially closed, this day 10th December, 2021.

THEME/EXIT POINT

Different classes were assigned specific themes which guided them in the concluded term. The outcome was showcased on the day of the exit point presentations. It was a huge success. Thank you all for the support we enjoyed. Certificates were also awarded to parents who came in on that day.

TERMLY ASSESSMENT/ HOLIDAY HOME WORK

This was based on CA1, CA2 (generated from class weekly tests), class work, assignments, projects and examination scores.

We recorded a remarkable improvement. This is good news since our standard is not lowered.

Holiday home work pack has been given to each of the learners. In addition, the holiday pack contains examination scripts, result checker and school bill for next term. Please note that holiday home work will equally add up to their termly grades henceforth.

REVIEW OF THE CONCLUDED TERM’S ACTIVITIES

  1. World Heart Day: We celebrated our grandparents so dear to our hearts on this day.
  2. Independent Day Celebration: Showcasing our unity in diversity. We had a president – Mr Okezie  Godswill and a vice president – Miss Halima Waziri for that day. We also extended our show of kindness to Nwachi Orphanage Home. Thanks for supporting us through your donations.
  3. World Teacher’s Day
  4. International Rhymes Week Celebration.
  5. School Annual Prayer and Thanksgiving.
  6.  No Bullying Campaign.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (INSET DAYS))

During the mid-term break, the management and staff were trained on Modern Teaching

Approach. Shortly after, the early years teachers had another training; ‘Circle time with a Difference’ in company of many other teachers within Abuja and beyond. It was an eye opening event.

PAYMENT OF BILLS

As always, we commend parents who always ensure bills are paid

fully on time and  in the same vein, encourage early payment from all. That will enhance better planning and implementation of the school activities.

CONTINUOUS PROVISION

Morning drills, after school academic assistance and weekends special lesson programmes are some of what we put together to ensure G_injas children always do more.

CLASS NOMENCLATURE IN THE NURSERY

Henceforth, the nursery classes, in line with government directives, will be Nursery 1, 2 and 3, no longer Tweenies, Nursery 1 and 2. The change already started with their exam scripts and holiday home work pack.
