January, 2022 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Hurray! It is a brand new year. We thank God that has given us life in good health. We thank all of you that are with us in the journey of moulding our children to become a great generation. Welcome back to school. In this New Year, we shall all work together to make it worthwhile.

The second term of 2021/2022 academic session commenced officially on 10th January, 2022. Academic activities have already kicked off in earnest as it is our tradition here at G_injas Private School.

School is growing too as we have some additions. Thank you all for the referrals. We welcome all new families joining us for this term.

Ensure your children resume with the following:

v  4 cardboards

v  2 toilet rolls

v  1 bar soap

v  1 hand sanitizer

Writing materials: pen, pencil, erasers, ruler, colours.

Kindly ensure your children return theirs as it will add up to their termly grades. It will be unfair to both school management and the child if resources employed to prepare such are wasted.

Our theme for this term is “Nigeria through my eyes” which will be captured through speeches, songs, dances and drama.

Having reviewed the learners’ performances in the previous term, a few strategies will be employed to ensure great transformation this term.

Creative work activities will be done more in classes through the use of play dough and more to accommodate kinaesthetic learners..

We have also arranged counselling sessions towards the end of term for the SSS 1 students to determine their areas of specialization as they prepare for WAEC and NECO external examinations. Various academic tools will be employed to achieve this. Other learners requiring special attention will be engaged too.

We have planned out some activities for the term as are itemized on the attached school’s calendar for the term.

Take note and watch out for the following events:

v  World Handwriting Day on 23rd January.

v  Read-a-Book-a-Day month for February.

v  Founder’s Day/G_injas 11th Anniversary on 7th February.

v  Exit Point/ Open House Day on 2nd March. On this day, parents are to come in and see what their children would have done in the term.

Printed Ankara materials will be given as soon as bills are paid; some children already got. This will be sown and used on this day. Find below the different styles for each class:

External exams for students in JSS 3 will commence in May immediately we resume 3rd term. Registration has commenced. Parents of the concerned students should take note as we will be writing you soon for other details as regards the requirements for registration and writing of the exams.

In our bid to create awareness on bullying, the school organized essay competition on “Bullying in schools and solutions”. Staff and learners who came out tops were handsomely rewarded.

Recommendations drawn from all the solutions suggested are now adopted as best practices. Copies of the recommendations were distributed on Saturday during the Parents and Teachers meeting.

We say a big congratulations.

Continuous development of our staff members is always a top priority. Therefore our teachers will be engaged in organized trainings both internal and external to further strengthen their skills.

This term, there will be a new line up of tips on parenting.

Watch out for it!

Once again, we are delighted to have the children back to school. It promises to be a great term and year. We seek your support in the term as we cannot work alone.
